About Us
About Us

As a child, I had the reputation of understanding older people. Adults were surprised that I seemed to genuinely enjoy the conversation and company of my grandparents. I also felt called to be of help. To this end, I became a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and embarked on a career in the field. Some 40 years later, I am still happy to listen to, help, and understand older people. Their stories are the foundation of our own lives, and the people they were, I see still.

All of us will grow older, and even in mid-life, some of us will have health issues that require short-term or longer-term care. As you face these issues on behalf of a parent, another older relative, your spouse or yourself, you know there is an emotional, social and spiritual component that's just as important as physical wellbeing. At Oakton Place, you can rely on our staff: people who are genuinely dedicated to furnishing skillful, respectful care, personalized to meet your needs or those of your loved one.

Oakton Pavilion, begun in 1980, continues to provide skilled nursing care for the elders in our community.

Our mission is still clear and alive: To provide dignified, high-quality care to the elderly and those in need of recuperative care, guided by the resident to the greatest extent possible and delivered in a warm, family-like environment.

With the opening of Oakton Arms to seniors for independent living in 1988, our desire to provide a continuum of services became a reality.

Today the residents of Oakton Pavilion and tenants of Oakton Arms live in a genuine community and their everyday lives are enriched and supported by these interactions and relationships. They also receive needed services throughout the campus setting.

I am happy that you've chosen to include Oakton Place in your search for eldercare services. I am proud of the options that we provide and the difference that you can feel as soon as you cross the threshold.

Call to arrange a visit soon. You'll see that, at Oakton Place, senior living is exactly that. Really living.
